Friday, May 24th, is Boobday!

Showing your breasts is a powerful statement.

Sometimes it’s sexual, sometimes it’s simply natural.  It can be titillating, thoughtful, or necessary.  Sometimes it’s head-scratching — look at the debate over breastfeeding your baby in public.

A woman’s body is never considered her own.  We’re told what to do with it at all times: show it, cover it.  NOW, not now.

We have 10 different white shirts depending on whether we’re picking up the kids, going on a date, or going on an interview, all to address the covering of our bodies.

Breasts are wondrous things with life-giving purpose and a happy sexual side-effect.  They should be revered and blessed and kissed and thanked.  They should never be hidden out of shame.  They should never be stuffed away for someone else’s comfort.

Boobs are the best.  Let’s celebrate them!!

    1. On Monday according to my sent emails. Not the end of the world though. I don’t come here to look at my own boobs :)

  1. One of my bosses was breastfeeding at a manager’s meeting, made up of six women and two men. She was directly across the table from me, less than five feet away. I, not particularly caring about most of the info and numbers flying around that didn’t have anything to do with me, spent some time thinking about how ridiculous it is that this is still a controversial thing that makes a lot of people have a big fucking hoo-haw over.
I talked to her about work while her baby was suckling away, mildly surprised she didn’t mind me being in plain sight, wanting to tell her, Hey, that’s a beautiful thing right there, somebody’s hungry!- but I figured, best I leave the topic of the boss’s boob and baby alone and just talk shop.
Why is there any controversy? Is this a nation of twelve year old boys?

Lovely boobs all around! And Hy, again with the alluring underboob! It has a strange power over some of us. Like me : )
