Friday, August 26th, is Boobday!

Happy Friday, everyone!

Be you, be awesome, be phenomenal and stand up for your right to do with your body what you will, including exposing it.

The Burkini ban controversy has highlighted the continuing objectification and politicizing of women’s bodies and proven that it comes from many angles — this one as either religious or personal freedom — and not just a sexual one.

Ultimately, no one, no country, no entity should have control over a woman’s body other than the woman herself and she is the lone proprietor of that body.  Period.

If she chooses to cover it it is no less her right than it is for me to bare it all.  We may disagree with why she covers herself just as she may disagree with our exposure, but we would be colossal hypocrites if we said she couldn’t.

Thank you as always for being a part of this little movement and for showing women everywhere that we have a choice.

A pic of me in my new undies.

I love the close up, the intimacy.

  1. I’m so fed up with the way women are told to behave. I don’t know are things getting worse or I’m just taking more notice of it.
Anyway, I’m so happy to be a part of something that lets us be what we want to be :D

  2. So, so, so agree with both yourself . . . and Dawn’s comment(s).
Just couldn’t believe the news about the “ban” when I heard about it !
I’d love to walk along that beach, completely NAKED, side-by-side with a lady in a Burkini (assuming she wouldn’t be upset by my own “attire”) . . . and see which one of us would be arrested FIRST !!!

  3. I agree with you 100% about the burkini ban. Women should wear what they want as long as they are not forced to wear it. But then if they are forced to wear certain clothes have we the right to force them not to? I have had many arguments about this with my French wife, who insists on the primacy of the French secular state, but there is a certain amount of moral quagmire about the whole issue.

Meanwhile! Thank you to all the lovely contributors to another wonderful Boobday :) x

  4. SCRUMPTIOUS! Especially Kate I wanna snuggle between them and drift asleep……wouldn’t it be amazing to live in a world with like minded people?

  5. There is nothing I’ve found more absurd than telling women how they should dress when going to the beach. Seriously? So you mean that a sweet Grandma, who hasn’t worn a bathing suit couldn’t go to the beach? Or rather, she could, but only if she doesn’t wear a head scarf? Ugh!

This said, I want to thank all the ladies who participate and keep participating in this weekly event. I particularly relate with Lauren, even though I weigh probably more than a few pounds more than her… and thank her for showing us, showing me, how beautiful a mother’s body really is.
I realize it may not be the comment she was hoping to get, but… it’s the thing that touched me :)

  6. Hm, yes, the burkini ban. France is fundamentally secular and I understand that they relate to religion rather differently than most countries. However, they haven’t banned religion in general or any specific religion. The ban (well, “bans” really) was ostensibly made to prevent public disorder.

    1. If you can rationally conclude that public disorder would result from seeing a person wear a visual symbol of Muslim faith while otherwise minding her own business, then your populace’s fear is completely disproportionate to reality. It’s a bad idea to make decisions like this based on irrational fear.

    2. A woman’s clothing could incite public disorder? Really? The same way a woman’s clothing incites men to rape her, I guess. Give me a fucking break.

    3. I burn easily so I like being covered. I’d walk with her, covered up. Would I be arrested for looking like I might possibly be Muslim? How ridiculous.

  7. Just cuz I’m playing “catch-up” again; backlog of all-sorts to read, incl family emails etc.. >_<

Anyway, I think this is one of my fave Boobday selections I've seen so far. :)

It's always great to see "new" and "rare" participants in the weekly. =D
Taking nothing from the array of regulars, whose contributions are just as much appreciated, I'd just like to really "call out" the newcomers, more to encourage future repeat performances (please, ladies)! ;)

    That's a lovely teddy. I like the lace-y panel. :)

    ** LAUREN **
Welcome "back", congrats on your 2nd! :D
Thanks for sharing — what a Fantastic photo!! A glorious pair & great-lookin' bod, sweet turquoise(?) new undies, and what a fabulous day it seems it was, then! :)

    ** MZ HYDE **
Must agree with Hyacinth — with "just a peek", and your "top management" rather highlighting where your curves can be found, this photo is titillating in the way that leaves much to the imagination. An Excellent pic! Thanks for sharing. =]
(Yes, I caught that it's on its side, rather than upright; still looks good!)

CHEERS, Ladies! Hope everyone's September is coming along nicely so far…

  8. … and about the Burkini ban — what a bloody shame / shambles… >__<

If we were instead reading/hearing a news story of another suicide bombing and the deaths of 2 (3?) Armed French Police amongst dozens of innocents, would our criticisms be that "the French police should've acted / DONE something SOONER"?

The burkini full-cover swimsuit offers Muslims a way of maintaining their Modesty and religious beliefs, whilst enjoying the "freedom" of swimming / water-side recreation. Muslims ARE, generally, *peaceful* people. Extremists may very well "abuse" ANY garment which may suit their (suicidal) purposes, and yet in THIS (French) instance, it really seems the police went too far…

Still, in light of the way extremists operate, how are we to best defend against them?
.. while having to "tip-toe" at the fringe of "religious freedoms"..? O_o
